Zakat: Financial Aid Request
The Islamic Society of Michiana (ISM) is committed to supporting our community members in need through our Zakat program. Our dedicated Zakat Committee is responsible for collecting Zakat donations and ensuring they are distributed fairly and effectively to those in need within our community.
Zakat Assistance Process
1. In-Person Consultation
Applicants seeking Zakat assistance must speak with the Imam or a member of the Zakat Committee in person at the mosque. This ensures that all requests are handled with care and sensitivity.
2. Zakat Request Form
After the initial consultation, applicants are required to fill out a Zakat request form. The completed form must be submitted to the Zakat Committee for review.
Our Zakat Committee ensures that donations are collected from the community and distributed directly to those in need, with a focus on personal identification and in-person meetings to verify that assistance reaches the right individuals.
3. Review and Decision
The Zakat Committee will carefully review each request. Decisions regarding approval or denial will be made based on the provided information, ensuring that funds are allocated to those who truly need assistance
